Performances for Young People

From the moment the house lights dim to the final curtain call, children of all ages respond enthusiastically to the thrill of a live theater performance. Ballet Hispanico's performances for young people bring all the hallmarks of a professional concert - dance, music, costumes and lights - to a presentation created especially for a student audience.

ˇVIVA LAS AMERICAS!
This spirited 50-minute theatrical production traces the evolution of Latin American and Caribbean dance forms along with their accompanying music and social customs.  The result is an unconventional and entertaining insight into Latin Culture. A resource guide is provided to all participating teachers and includes:

  • Background information on the history and customs of Latin America
  • How to look at dance (what, when, where and how)
  • Cultural language and context of dance
  • Pre and Post performance activity packet
