Admissions



ENROLLMENT PROCEDURES

Enrollment in the school-year programs for new students begins in August; hours are 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm, Monday-Friday. After the school year begins, students may also enroll on Saturdays, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

All students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to complete the Registration Form. Every student will receive a Student Handbook. An initial tuition payment is made at the time of enrollment; enrollment is complete only when the first installment is received. An evaluation and/or a placement class is provided for students with previous dance training.

Payment can be made by credit card, check, cash or money order. Please note that registration is not complete until payment is received. ˇ You will receive an email confirmation within approximately two weeks. If you do not have an email address, you will be contacted by phone.

Scholarships are available to those who qualify.

 *A $30 registration fee is required upon student registration.*

Tuition may be paid in full at the time of enrollment.  All payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Money orders, cash or checks, made payable to Ballet Hispanico, are accepted.

Payment of the monthly fee is due by the first of each month. Monthly bills are not sent.
A Late Payment Fee of $25 is charged for all payments made after the 30th of the month.
A Returned Check Fee of $30 is charged for returned checks.

Due to holiday schedules, the number of classes per month may vary.
There are no make-up classes or discounts allowed for Adventures in Dance absences.

Withdrawal from the program must be made in writing to the Registrar, otherwise monthly charges will accrue and the student will be liable for the full year's tuition. If tuition is outstanding for 30 days, the student will not be allowed to participate in class.

Intro to Ballet

Intro to Spanish

Females - black long sleeved leotard with a black skirt and black flamenco shoes and castanets

Males - white tee shirt with black shorts, white athletic socks and black flamenco shoes

Ballet

Females - black long sleeved leotard with pink convertible tights and pink ballet slippers

Males - white tank leotard or white tee shirt with black convertible tights, a black dance belt and white socks and white ballet slippers

Spanish

Females - black long sleeved leotard with black flamenco skirt and black flamenco shoes

Males - white tank leotard or white tee shirt with black jazz pants and white socks with black flamenco shoes

(Spanish class requires castanets)

Contemporary Dance- (Jazz / Hip Hop/Modern)

Females - black long sleeved leotard with black footless tights

Males - white tank leotard or white tee shirt with black footless tights and a dance belt

(Jazz classes require jazz pants and jazz shoes; Hip Hop requires sweatpants and sneakers, bare feet for Modern)


PRE-PROFESSIONAL *

Ballet

Females are required to wear pink convertible tights and pink ballet slippers. Levels IV-VI will require Pointe shoes upon teacher permission.

Level I - White Capezio Style #CC101c Princess Camisole leotard

Level II - Lavender Capezio Style #CC101c Princess Camisole leotard

Level III - Pink Capezio Style #CC101 Princess Camisole leotard

Level IV/V - Burgundy Capezio Style #CC101 Princess Camisole leotard All Level Males - white tank leotard or white tee shirt with black convertible tights, a black dance belt and white socks and white ballet slippers

* Pre-Professional Leotards will be available at the Capezio store at 201 Amsterdam Avenue in late August. If you mention your name and Ballet Hispanico, you will receive a 10% discount and a Capezio bag


Spanish

Females are required to wear their level leotard with black flamenco skirt and black flamenco shoes

Males white tank leotard or white tee shirt with black convertible tights, a black dance belt and white socks with black flamenco shoes

(Spanish class requires castanets)


Contemporary Dance- (Latin Jazz / Limón)

Females are required to wear their level leotard with pink convertible tights

Males white tank leotard or white tee shirt with black convertible tights, a black dance belt and white socks and white ballet slippers

(Jazz classes require jazz pants and jazz shoes; Limón requires bare feet)

SCHOLARSHIP SUPPORT 

The Ballet Hispanico School of Dance offers over $100,000 in need-based and merit scholarships to eligible students each year.  Need-Based scholarships are available in all of our program divisions - eligibility is determined on a case by case basis.
