Choreographer for Instituto Coreográfico

Program Description

Instituto Coreográfico will provide an emerging choreographer a professional and supportive environment in which to explore process, cultural identity, and movement invention through the creation of dance. That support includes 60 hours of studio time working with the Ballet Hispánico Company dancers, an appointed mentor with whom to discuss the art making process, constructive feedback from leaders in the dance field, video footage of the rehearsal process, a work sample sizzle reel, and a stipend of $2000. This opportunity is for choreographers who have set work only on companies with budgets of $1.5M or less and have a demonstrated interest in creating culturally specific work based on their own background and experience.
