Ballet Hispánico brings communities together to celebrate and explore Latino cultures through innovative dance productions, transformative dance training, and community engagement. Ballet Hispánico provides the physical home and cultural heart for Latinx dance in the United States. Ballet Hispánico has developed a robust public presence across its three main programs: its Company, School of Dance and Community Arts Programs.

Position Description:

Ballet Hispánico is looking for an experienced and versatile building and facilities leader to direct all management activities related to the organization’s buildings, school of dance, studios, and rental spaces. The successful candidate will have experience in day-to-day operational oversight, onsite project management, short-term and long-term planning, and rental and lease negotiation. Additionally, the preferred candidate will be experienced and certified in building safety, security, and access. It is required that the candidate be experienced in building and facilities compliance to all local, state, and federal laws. The candidate must be able to develop a process to address any identified issues with codes or regulations to meet compliance standards.

Specific Responsibilities 

  • Plans and directs all aspects of the day-to-day functionality within the School of Dance, as well as in house events and productions.
  • Ensures established standards for technology capabilities to meet or exceed school and building needs.
  • Monitor building systems and strategically anticipate other than routine needs to ensure comfort and safety.

  • Strategically manage rental program. Negotiate and optimize space usage, fees, and contracts. Design payment processing to optimize timely payments and calendar maintenance.

  • Point person, relationship manager with the Stephen Gaynor School, planning, and excellent communication and meeting management.

  • Assure high standards of customer experience, both internal and external participants.

  • Direct and manage capital projects up to and including contract negotiations, vendor management, and budget and expenses adherence.

  • Knowledge of Building and Fire Safety Codes. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 8+ years progressive experience in mid-size 8-10K square foot buildings

  • Certifications a Plus

    • OSHA Safety Certificate
    • CFM. Certified Facilities Manager
    • CEM. Certified Energy Manager
    • PMP. Project Management Professional

Compensation:

  • $85K-$105K per annum
  • Competitive benefit package
