Assistant Director of Institutional Relations

Emily Mathis Corona joined Ballet Hispánico in 2021 as Assistant Director of Institutional Relations. Emily holds a master’s degree in Performing Arts Administration from New York University, and undergraduate degrees in honors English and music (musicology/voice) from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to joining Ballet Hispánico, Emily was the Head of Communications for NYU’s Center for Data Science, working closely on sustainability planning with external relations and university development, and concurrent Manager of a $13 million joint grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and Gordon & Betty Moore Foundation. Emily served in the editorial division of Oxford University Press, and was a Writing Fellow with the Dallas Observer, a Village Voice Media Group publication, where she focused her coverage on culture, education, and immigration. She has covered culture and politics for the Village Voice, the Texas Observer, and KUT News (an NPR affiliate), among others. Emily is also a working board member and grant writer for Born Dancing, an organization that works to provide dance access, education, and resources to New Yorkers with disabilities. Emily maintains a vibrant artistic life, performing in theaters around the New York City region.
