Bienvenidos Ticket Program

The Ballet Hispánico Bienvenidos Ticket Program, spearheaded by the Community Arts Partnerships (CAP) team, provides and opens access to the arts through free tickets to BH New York City Season performances to members of the BH community.

Developed and launched in spring 2022, the Bienvenidos Ticket Program welcomes students, families, and audience members of all ages to BH mainstage Company performances in New York City. As BH continues to open doors and change the conversation, many audience members will see themselves and their stories reflected on stage for the first time, and Bienvenidos promotes increased lifelong access to dance through partnerships with local nonprofits and New York City schools. As the nation's largest Latinx cultural organization, reflecting the diversity of lived immigrant experiences, BH is proud to ensure access across the socioeconomic spectrum to its artistic programming to Bienvenidos ticketholders.

The Bienvenidos Ticket Program is made possible by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the Cultural Immigrant Initiative through the New York City Council, in partnership with the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.

Spring 2022 Bienvenidos

The Bienvenidos Ticket Program launched in spring 2022 for the Company’s return NYC Season at New York City Center (April 1-3, 2022). The Company’s City Center performances featured the premiere of the first-ever full-length ballet based on the life of the iconic Evita Perón by acclaimed choreographer Annabelle Lopez Ochoa. This newly commissioned work – more than two years in the making – entitled Doña Perón is now a signature work in the repertory, and reclaims the mythic story through a Latina-told narrative. Altogether, over 1,000 free tickets across four performances were ultimately distributed as a part of this inaugural effort. Through this wide-reaching outreach process, BH connected with new and old partners, and ensured the benefits of its artistic programming extended far beyond its existing audience base.
