CAP Teaching Artist

Dr. Estrada is a multicultural dance educator, artist, producer, and advocate. She holds a BA and MFA in Dance from the University of California, Irvine, and a Ph.D. in Flamenco Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Seville. Her MFA thesis,The Choreographic Development of TheThree-Cornered Hat through the 20th Century, and the case study of her Ph.D. dissertation-Flamenco’s Contributions to Ballet - led her to produce the documentary ENI9MA. Her creativework embraces contemporary theatrical western dance forms and flamenco, often inspired by themes involving dance history and social justice. In Mexico, she was funding faculty at the University of Sonora and established Dance Collage school and company. As an arts andeducation advocate, Estrada is invested in facilitating bridges between Hispanic and Latin American communities and the arts, supporting Ballet Hispánico’s mission through cultural dance education since 2016. Dr. Estrada continues developing her scholarly research whilecollaborating as a choreographer and teaching artist internationally
