CAP Teaching Artist

Mariana Parma received her BA in dance from Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University. Her experience in the realm of Argentine Tango is vast, and she has spun in stilettos in NBC's hit series, "The Blacklist", as a Russian Tango dancer, national commercials, and within theatrical venues  such as NYC Town Hall, Lincoln Center, and abroad. Mariana has also trained with legends of Argentine Tango, including Chita Rivera and Tommy Tune. She was on staff at the Dance Manhattan Ballroom School in NYC for more than 10 years and continues to teach as a guest instructor at various dance studios and festivals in the US and abroad. She has choreographed for commercials, composers and orchestras, including a recent tour in China of the production “Glamour Tango”, an all-female Tango Company. She is also the recipient of the HOLA Award for outstanding achievement for choreography for the premiere production of “Tango Fever” and is the 2008 USA Tango Champion.
