Virtual A La Calle Block Party

October 1, 2021

Ballet Hispánico's kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month programming with a virtual rendition of the annual A La Calle Block Party! Company dancers and School of Dance students perform alongside guests from Bombazo Dance Company, Calpulli Mexican Dance Company, and Contra Tiempo in a festive celebration fusing dance and culture. Sponsored by Con Edison of New York, Popular Bank, and Mutual of America.

Diálogos: Colorism in the Arts and Anti-blackness within Latinx Communities

Ballet Hispánico's Community Arts Partnerships partners with the Moss Arts Center to discuss the sources and effects of colorism and anti-blackness in the arts with experts from Ballet Hispánico and Virginia Tech University.

Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration with Ballet Hispánico Sponsored by First Republic

Watch a performance by the Company then get moving to the beats of Salsa, Mambo, and Merengue in a Latin Social Dance Class led by Company dancers. This virtual event is designed for the whole family with basic movements that everyone can enjoy and follow. Follow along and connect virtually with one another through the joy of dance and Latinx cultures made possible thanks to First Republic.

Diálogos: Ballet Hispánico's 50 Year Legacy

Artistic Director & CEO Eduardo Vilaro unites with other leading Latinx artists to examine the past, present, and future of Ballet Hispánico in another installation of Diálogos; the culminating event of our HHM celebrations.
