Early Childhood

Deborah de Farias grew up in Lubbock, Texas as a first generation immigrant from Brazil. She has trained at Ballet Lubbock under the guidance of Yvonne Racz-Key and is a former Ballet Lubbock instructor. She has taught students between the ages of 3-13, and has spent a majority of her time with their Community Outreach Program. She has attended Texas Tech University as a Dance and Russian Language double major. She continued her professional training at Ballet Hispánico as part of the inaugural Pa'lante Scholars Program and trained under the mentorship of Rodney Hamilton. She also continued her teaching experience with Ballet Hispanico, having been on faculty with the Pasitos Program throughout the academic year. She currently dances with Neville Dance Theatre under the leadership of Brenda Neville, and has recently had the opportunity to work with Daniel Catanach on his new film project. She is ecstatic to be on faculty with Ballet Hispanico for the 2024 Summer Intensive program!
