Isabella Dawis


Isabella Dawis accompanies at multiple dance schools including Ballet Hispánico, Peridance, and Steps on Broadway. She holds a BM summa cum laude and highest distinction in piano performance from the University of Minnesota, where she studied with Prof. Alexander Braginsky as a National Merit Scholar and Phi Beta Kappa member. She has appeared in concert with the Minnesota Orchestra, the Dakota Valley Symphony, and the Minneapolis Civic Orchestra.

Also working as an actor, singer, and playwright, Isabella collaborates with artists of all disciplines to create genre-crossing new work. She is bookwriter/lyricist for the musical HALF THE SKY with music by Tidtaya Sinutoke, about an Asian American woman climbing Mount Everest -- an inaugural First Draft commission by the 5th Avenue Theatre (Seattle, WA). Isabella's NYC stage credits include Musical Theatre Factory at Joe's Pub, 54 Below, the 24 Hour Plays Nationals Acting Company, the Corkscrew Theater Festival, the Tank, Project Y, and the Brick. As a soprano, her operatic and concert credits include the New York Philharmonic Biennial at National Sawdust, the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Center for Contemporary Opera, Beth Morrison Projects, and Opera America. She studied classical voice with Lisa Saffer at New England Conservatory.
