Rachael L. James
School of Dance Administrative Associate
A New York native, Rachael L. James, began her dance training in Alvin Ailey's Creative Movement program, for a short period, and then joined Harlem School of the Arts at age 4. Having grown up dancing in church, Rachael's training at HSA included Ballet, Pointe, Modern, West African, Hip-Hop, Contemporary and Jazz dance. From a young age, she performed alongside Bill T. Jones/ Arnie Zane Company and the African Nutcracker and on stage at Carnegie Hall, Aaron Davis Hall at City College and Symphony Space. In 2015, Rachael earned a B.S. in Public Relations from the State University of New York at Fredonia and was involved in multiple clubs and organizations, including the school's first Hip-Hop dance team. Although since ending her formal dance training, she has always maintained a passion for dance and performing arts and is occasionally called upon to perform at local events and functions. Rachael is delighted to return to "home" to the dance world and currently serves as a School of Dance Administrative Associate at Ballet Hispánico.
