The Junior Summer Intensive program challenges students to develop their versatility by strengthening their Ballet, Spanish Dance, and Modern dance techniques. With an emphasis on holistic dance training, this summer intensive will develop the students’ artistic skills through specialized forums and a rigorous schedule of diverse class offerings.
Classes include:
Ballet, Pre-Pointe & Pointe, Modern (Afro-Caribbean, Graham, or Limón), Jazz, Musical Theater, Dance History and Stretch & Conditioning.
Plus:

Now offering two levels: Audition and Open Level
Audition Levels
For advanced-beginner to intermediate dancers with at least two years of training experience. Audition registration is now open.
Open Levels
Designed for entry-level dancers with little-to-no dance training. No audition is necessary.

Scholarships
For those that receive a scholarship, please follow the instructions on the back of the scholarship certificate.
Scholarships are need to be claimed two weeks after the awarded date. For any additional quesitons, please reach out to school@ballethispanico.org.
Scholarships are awarded on a merit basis either at our in person auditions or one of our partnering dance competitions (UBC, Icons Dance Festival, RSIA, NYCDA, Youth Grand Prix, etc.).

What to bring for the Junior Summer Intensive
- Snacks (Nuts and snacks containing nuts are prohibited)
- Non-Glass Water Bottle
- Street Shoes (For outside of studios and common areas)
Class Dress Code
Female Students
- Base (All Classes)
- Any style solid black leotard (no color-piping/design) and flesh-toned convertible tights
- Hair secured neatly away from face; no loose hair
- No jewelrey; studs that do not hang past the earlobe or go under the earlobe are permitted
- Optional Warm-Ups: If the studio is cold, black fitted warm-ups or BH branded items and sweatpants are permitted for the first 10-minutes of class.
- Ballet & Pre-Pointe/Pointe
- Flesh tone ballet and pointe shoes (pointe shoes are ONLY permitted for students with prior pointe experience)
- Flesh tone ballet and pointe shoes (pointe shoes are ONLY permitted for students with prior pointe experience)
- Spanish Dance
- Black flamenco/character ankle length skirt
- Black flamenco shoes (character shoes permissable)
- Castanets
- Contemporary Forms and Stretch & Conditioning
- Black convertible tights (worn over leotard and base tights)
- Bare feet
- Additional Recommended Dancwear and Footwear:
- Sneakers and sweatpants, (hip-hop), socks (contemporary), ballroom/character shoes (salsa), and jazz shoes (jazz; lyrical)
- Sneakers and sweatpants, (hip-hop), socks (contemporary), ballroom/character shoes (salsa), and jazz shoes (jazz; lyrical)
- Additional Recommended Items:
- Yoga mat, stretch bands, and knee pads
Male Students
- Base (All Classes)
- Black or white fitted t-shirt or tank
- Black mens tights
- Dance belt (quilted recommended)
- Hair secured neatly away from face; no loose hair
- No jewelrey; studs that do not hang past the earlobe or go under the earlobe are permitted
- Optional Warmups: If the studio is cold, black fitted warm-ups or BH branded items or sweatpants are permitted for the first 10-minutes of class

- Black or white ballet shoes (must match color of socks)

- Black Flamenco boots or hard-soled shoes
