You may submit a Video Audition for consideration for Summer and School Year Training Programs.

FEE
There is a $20 audition registration fee to submit a video audition.
REGISTRATION PROCESS
Step One: Register on our Mindbody Portal
If you are new to Ballet Hispánico:

Create a Mindbody account here.

Account should be created with the auditionee's name and birthdate.

Click on AUDITION and select CLASS SCHEDULE DATE MAY 4, 2024 to select the VIDEO AUDITION option.

Pay the non-refundable $20 audition fee.
If you are a Ballet Hispánico student or have auditioned before:

Email [email protected] to receive a waived audition fee code.
Step Two: Fill out our Audition Materials Submission Form

Fill out Ballet Hispánico’s audition form (provided in the Audition Materials Submission Form)

Upload a dance resume

Upload a headshot
PREPARING YOUR VIDEO AUDITION
The video should not be longer than 5 minutes in length and portray the student in practices clothes and with the exercises included below. Any videos that are longer than 5 minutes will not be considered.
WHAT TO INCLUDE IN YOUR VIDEO AUDITION
FOR SUMMER TRAINING PROGRAMS
JUNIOR SUMMER INTENSIVE REQUIREMENTS:

Ballet Barre: Battement tendus, dégagés, adagio, grand battements.

Center: Pirouettes across the floor. Petite and grand allegro.
-
Pointe (if on pointe): Échappés and passé relevés. Pirouettes and pique turns (both optional)
-
Contemporary: Floor work. Across the floor. Improvisation.
SUMMER INTENSIVE REQUIREMENTS:

Ballet Barre: Battement tendus, dégagés, adagio, grand battements.
- Center: Pirouettes across the floor. Petite and grand allegro.
- Pointe (if on pointe): Échappés and passé relevés. Pirouette combination with en dehors and en dedans pirouettes. Pique turns, fouettés, or grand pirouettes.

Contemporary: Floor work. Across the floor. Improvisation.
CHOREOLAB REQUIREMENTS:

FOR ACADEMIC YEAR TRAINING PROGRAMS
LA ACADEMIA: PRE-PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM:

OTHER VIDEO REQUIREMENTS
Shoot your video in landscape orientation (horizontal, not vertical) so your entire body is be visible and brightly lit.
At the beginning of your video, include a brief intro stating your name and age. IMPORTANT! Name your video files as indicated below under "Naming Conventions" so we are able to notify you of your acceptance status. Improperly named files will make it impossible for us to identify you.
Naming Conventions for your Audition Video
We must be able to identify you so we can notify you of your audition result. Please name your video files as follows so we can easily identify you when reviewing your audition. Incorrectly named files will cause delays.
