WHAT TO INCLUDE IN YOUR VIDEO AUDITION

LA ACADEMIA LOWER DIVISION & JUNIOR SUMMER INTENSIVE REQUIREMENTS:

• Ballet Barre: Battement tendus, dégagés, adagio, and grands battements.
• Center: Pirouette en dehors. Petit allegro (sautés, échappés). Medium allegro (pas de chats, galops, skips).
• Contemporary: Floor work, across the floor combination, or improvisation.
• Pointe (if on pointe): Échappés and passé relevés. Pirouettes and pique turns (both optional).

LA ACADEMIA UPPER DIVISION & SUMMER INTENSIVE REQUIREMENTS:

• Ballet Barre: Battement tendus, dégagés, adagio, grand battements.
• Center: Pirouettes across the floor. Petite and grand allegro.
• Pointe (if on pointe): Échappés and passé relevés. Pirouettes and pique turns (both optional)
• Contemporary: Floor work. Across the floor. Improvisation.

CHOREOLAB REQUIREMENTS:

• Ballet Barre: Battement tendus, dégagés, adagio, grand battements.
• Center: Pirouettes across the floor. Petite and grand allegro.
• Pointe (optional if on pointe): Échappés and passé relevés. Pirouette combination with en dehors and en dedans pirouettes. Piqué turns, fouettés, or grand pirouettes.
• Contemporary: Floor work. Across the floor. Improvisation. Partner work (optional).

OTHER VIDEO REQUIREMENTS:

• Shoot your video in landscape orientation (horizontal, not vertical) so your entire body is be visible and brightly lit.
• At the beginning of your video, include a brief intro stating your name and age.
• The video should not be longer than 5 minutes in length and portray the student in practices clothes and with the exercises included below. Any videos that are longer than 5 minutes will not be considered.

IMPORTANT: Name your video files as indicated below under "Naming Conventions" so we are able to notify you of your acceptance status. Improperly named files will make it impossible for us to identify you.

We must be able to identify you so we can notify you of your audition result. Please name your video files as follows so we can easily identify you when reviewing your audition. Incorrectly named files will cause delays.
