With enthusiasm, she actively promotes and lectures on Spanish opera and the legacy of her late husband, the esteemed opera composer Daniel Catán, at prestigious opera houses across the United States and Latin America.

In her role as the Director of Hispanic Initiatives and Senior Development Officer at San Diego Opera, Andrea adeptly employed her skills in major gift cultivation and stewardship, boasting an impressive 90% retention rate. Notably, she conceptualized and established the bi-national Opera en Español Initiative, a visionary project aligned with diversity, equity, and inclusion values. This groundbreaking initiative served as a dynamic platform, uniting Hispanic contributions from both sides of the border to champion new commissions and innovative education programs. Andrea also exceled in strategizing and executing plans to forge robust relationships with key donors, media partners, and the vibrant San Diego community.
